IEEE CEC 2027 invites proposals for Special Sessions on emerging and established topics within the scope of evolutionary computation. Special Sessions bring focused research communities together within the congress and are a long-standing highlight of CEC. Each accepted session is expected to attract a coherent set of high-quality papers, and organisers are welcome to propose complementary elements such as a short panel or discussion slot.
What to include in a proposal
An abstract
Setting out the motivation, objectives, and relevance of the topic to CEC 2027, and its expected impact
The Organisers
Names, affiliations, countries, email addresses and web pages, with a short biography for each*
Nominated Corresponding Organiser
Links to any Previous Editions of the Special Session
Either at CEC or related conferences
List of potential or committed papers (optional)
Please include titles, authors and brief abstracts
*Organising teams that are diverse in geography, gender, career stage and research background are particularly encouraged
Review and paper handling
Papers submitted to Special Sessions use the main conference submission system, follow the same format, page limits and review standards as regular papers, and, if accepted, are presented at the congress and included in the main conference proceedings. Organisers of accepted special sessions are expected to promote their special sessions, support the review process under the direction of the Programme Chairs, declare any conflicts of interest (papers authored by session organisers are handled independently), and chair the special session in-person in Edinburgh. Sessions that do not attract enough accepted papers may be merged with related special sessions or the regular programme.
