CEC 2027 offers a streamlined Conference-to-Journal path in partnership with the IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation (TEVC), the only journal covered by the CEC agreement. Through a co-ordinated process between the congress and the journal, a small number of top-quality submissions may be recommended for accelerated consideration by TEVC. Eligibility criteria, the recommendation process and timelines will follow the model piloted at WCCI 2026 and will be published on this page once finalised.
Selected papers from CEC may be invited to submit an extended version to the IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation (TEVC)
If your paper is selected, you will receive an official invitation within two weeks after the conclusion of the conference. The invitation email will include detailed requirements for the extended manuscript and submission instructions.
Invited extended papers will undergo the standard peer-review process for TEVC. However, because the conference paper has been reviewed and then pre-screened by a selection committee composed of the TEVC Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editors, the extended version will be considered as a Revision to first review. This should result in a more streamlined conference to journal publication pathway.
